Halifax pt.1

The flight was easy enough. Very short - only 1.5 hours from Boston.  Coming in to Halifax was interesting. The land is freaking bare of houses, paved roads, etc. Wild.

So here we are, in Halifax.
It's relatively cold here, though lots of people were wearing shorts, tshirts and flipflops.
I guess it hasn't been so warm recently.
We found the B&B we're staying at and left the car. The room wasn't ready yet so we left it and walked to downtown.
It was only about a 15 minute walk down Spring Garden.  It's a really college-y area so the shops reflected that - coffee, clothes, music, food, etc.  Cool enough.
I didn't spend a lot of time here as a kid; just a few times a year to see the sights.  I saw most of what I remembered - the public library with the statue of Winston Churchill that we used to play on; the waterfront with the sailing ships; the Citadel.  We walked up and around the outside of the Citadel, but it was closed so we couldn't go inside.  The Citadel is the huge fortress on the big hill in Halifax. Pretty cool and old.
I forced M to buy a practical fleece jacket that would actually keep her warm.  Just don't mention to her that it's practical and also looks good.  Thanks.

Now, back at the B&B with the creepy English guy who runs the place, we're getting ready to go out.
