garden part 2

still nothing.
I have to say that I am mildly disappointed, although I know that's crazy. I grew up with gardens, so the process isn't new, but still - I want peas now.

we had a couple large gardens for a while when I was growing up, in a small place in Nova Scotia called Evanston. I say small place, because I'm not sure what else to call it. The Trans-Canada Highway was the big road and Evanston was a bunch of houses, trailers, an elementary school and a small hospital. They all sat along a road that ran off of the Trans-Canada, straight off and down to the left. We lived up a driveway that started down at the bottom of that first turn, as the road headed back up the hill, right down in front of the elementary school.
The driveway went up to the house from the right side as you faced it, another driveway coming in from the school access road. The in a white one-floor-with-finished-basement house, house to the left, and the big gardens up behind it. There were a couple of greenhouses, usually staffed by birds with broken wings we tried valiantly to save. Also, the place where my grandfather would sit to eat his lobster when he came to visit my militantly vegetarian parents and their spawn, who would have loved to eat all the white flour, unnatural bagels they wanted.

Hm. Could I use this for that?
Thanks for listening.

ok, so here's something to write about - my garden

I have officially started my garden, such as it is.
I planted sugar snap peas in a couple of window boxes and some lettuce in a few pots.
This is all in advance of my bigger plan to have a couple of raised beds to grow more.
I am also planning on tomatoes.

This is all extremely exciting for me - growing things is the best thing ever.  It's really hard to believe that the seeds I just planted are going to actually grow.  To be perfectly honest, I won't really believe until I see the little shoots.

wow man.

I'll post pictures when it's daytime.
