now with video!!

yep, we figured out how to add some video.
so, keep an eye out for the google video thing, like the one of the sushi chefs.
We won't put them throughout, and make you re-read everything, though you should anyway, because the deepest insights only come after many re-re-readings.

Bullet train is about 180 mph. TGV in France is about 200 mph. Kyoto means Capital City and Tokyo means Southern (I think) capital. By this time you know that Tokyo used to be Edo before Emperor moved.

Anyway, I loved the door. Maybe it is from Harry Potter.

I hope you are not so full of temples and shrines that you don't enjoy Kyoto. It is less frenetic than Tokyo and more peaceful. Also, nothing was destroyed during WWII as the USAF voluntarily put it off the list in order to protect the cultural heritage.
Be sure to stroll down the philosopher's walk.
When do you leave for Hawaii?
